While my personal opinion played a role in determining the list, I also considered other factors such as comfort, location, price, and speed of communication with hotel staff (trust me, it matters!). I took into account consumer ratings and reviews, as well as my own experiences and observations, to create a well-rounded rating system.

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious resort with all the amenities, or a more budget-friendly option that still offers comfort and convenience, this list has something for everyone. From beachfront properties to jungle lodges, these top-rated hotels are sure to make your Galápagos experience unforgettable.

Of all the hotels on the Galápagos Islands, the Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel stands out as the clear #1 choice. While it was unfortunately out of my budget during my own stay, I had the opportunity to visit the hotel’s restaurant and explore the grounds and was thoroughly impressed by what I saw.

One of the hotel’s standout features is undoubtedly its prime location in the heart of Puerto Ayora, the main town on Santa Cruz Island. Despite being centrally located, the hotel is situated in a quiet, secluded area, providing guests with a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The hotel also boasts its own private beach, as well as a variety of other amenities such as a pool, spa, and fitness center.

But what really sets the Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel apart is its exceptional level of service and attention to detail. Coming in at #2 on my list of the best hotels on the Galápagos Islands is Hotel La Isla, where I had the pleasure of staying during my own visit. In my opinion, it’s a fantastic option for two people looking for a comfortable and convenient stay.

One of the standout features of Hotel La Isla is its location, which is just a short walk from the center of Puerto Ayora and many of the town’s top attractions, e.g. Tortuga Bay Beach is so nearby. The hotel also offers a variety of amenities, including a pool, bar, and on-site restaurant serving up delicious meals made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

When it comes to consumer reviews, Hotel La Isla scores highly across multiple platforms. On Booking.com, the hotel has a score of 9.1 out of 10, with visitors praising everything from the comfortable beds to the attentive and friendly staff. While the price of Hotel La Isla is certainly on the lower side, I believe that when you take into account factors such as comfort, location, and the level of service provided by the staff, it’s one of the best options for a stay on the Galápagos Islands. That being said, if you’re looking for the ultimate luxury experience, the Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel may still be the way to go. However, if you are looking to save a buck, then Hotel La Isla is the #1 option for Galapagos Hotel.

Taking the #3 spot on my list of the best hotels on the Galápagos Islands (and my #1 pick in Puerto Villamil) is Hotel Albemarle, where I had the pleasure of staying during my own visit. One of the highlights of my stay was the breathtaking view of the beach, which made for a truly memorable experience.

The hotel is also conveniently located near several top spots to visit on Isabela Island, including the Laguna de los Flamingos and the Wall of Tears. Additionally, the hotel itself boasts a range of features, including an outdoor pool, restaurant, and bar.

While it may not be the best option for solo travelers or couples, Sandy Feet House offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

One of the best features of this hotel is its location – it’s situated right on the endless Puerto Villamil Beach, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere.
